On June 24 at 3:00 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center will launch its 2025 Freedom and Prosperity Indexes.
After a year in which nearly half of the world’s population voted in national elections, the 2025 Freedom and Prosperity Indexes provide unparalleled insight into recent trends in political freedom, economic freedom, rule of law, and prosperity across 164 countries.
According to our newest data, the world experienced decline in all three components of freedom, with the drop in economic freedom being the most significant of any year since 1995. The post-COVID rebound in global prosperity levels also appears to have stalled, with global health and education standards remaining the same from 2023 to 2024 after years of consistent improvement.
With the escalation of global challenges such as armed conflict, democratic backsliding, and economic uncertainty, democratic institutions and societal prosperity remain under threat in countries across the world.
This event gathers impact investors, government officials, foundation leaders, and private sector representatives for a discussion on the current democratization and development landscape as well as key findings from the 2025 Freedom and Prosperity Indexes.
This conversation will take place at Atlantic Council headquarters and will be broadcast on YouTube, X, and LinkedIn. To join us in-person or virtually, please complete the registration form.
