Andrew D’Anieri is associate director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, where he facilitates the Center’s work on Ukraine and Russia and leads its Central Asia programming. He oversees the Russia Tomorrow paper series and contributes to the Center’s work on Ukraine’s reconstruction and business and governance in Eurasia.

Prior to joining the Council, D’Anieri served as a Peace Corps volunteer, teaching English at a maritime academy in southern Ukraine. He studied Russian in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has served as a global ambassador for the Ukrainian nonprofit organization Right to Protection. His writing has appeared in publications including The Hill, the New York Post, the Diplomat, and the National Interest. He is also a frequent commentator on BBC World News and other outlets. He is a member of the Eurasia Foundation’s Young Professionals Network.

D’Anieri holds a Master of Arts in Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies and an honors certificate in international business diplomacy from Georgetown University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in global studies and history from Colby College.
